As the founder of Omugwo Academy, Dr. Ikuenobe has pioneered a digital platform merging traditional Nigerian postnatal care practices with modern medical knowledge to support new mothers and their families. She is also the founder of Lead Oak Women and Children Foundation, a non-profit organization providing quality education, healthcare, and empowerment opportunities to children in rural communities and their mothers.
As a consultant with the World Bank Group, she currently serves as ECD Technical Lead on multiple projects in Nigeria where she leads the design and implementation of projects that train community mentors and caregivers on positive parenting, responsive caregiving, and early stimulation techniques using the Nurturing Care Framework, while leveraging existing community structures to improve early childhood development outcomes. Through this initiative, she is equipping caregivers with practical tools to support children’s holistic growth, ensuring they not only survive but thrive.
Through the Dr. Megor brand, she offers online courses, workshops, and coaching on ECD topics such as parent & caregiver education, early learning support, responsive childcare, afterbirth, and newborn care for African families. Megor is committed to challenging ineffective stereotypes and developing innovative, homegrown solutions to development challenges that are pragmatic and applicable in the African context.
She has been involved in ECD at international, national, and sub-national levels, engaging stakeholders across public and private sectors to advocate for better ECD programs for African children.
She has contributed to developing curriculum, pedagogy, resources, and learning tools for early learning and foundational literacy in Nigeria. A recipient of multiple awards, including the Mandela Washington Fellowship, she believes in the power of the family unit to nurture every child to reach their full potential.
